Frequently Asked Questions

As part of Foster City's 50th birthday in 2021, we paid homage to this popular race from the 1970s and early 1980s.  Due to its popularity, it has now found a home at Summer Days!   We welcome anyone over 5 years of age to participate in this fun family friendly race!

How to Participate:

You must provide your own inflatable raft/vessel.  Don't have an actual raft?  No problem!  You can race with anything that inflates!  Whether it be an inner tube or a pool float, we encourage you to be creative and turn any inflatable into a water vessel!  You must choose an inflatable that you (and the rest of your team) can safely sit inside or on top of. Pre-registration is strongly recommended.  Day of registration will be accepted but prices increase. 

Life jackets also must be worn at all times during the race.

How Many Races will There Be?

There will be two types of races:  One is designed for families, where one of the members of your team must be 15 years old or younger, and the other is for adults!  If the children in your family are older than 15, you must register for one of the adult heats.  Registration is $10 per team/inflatable raft.   Please note the race schedule is subject to change.

9:30am   Family Race Qualifying Heat*

10am      Adult Race Qualifying Heat*

10:30am Championship Races

11am      Presentation of Awards

*Top 3 of each heat moves on to the Championship Race.
